Three measurements make all the difference.

  • Usable width

Measure the flat area of the transom where the name will sit, clear of hardware.

  • Available height

Note the height available, allowing room for a hailing port below.

  • A straight-on photo

Stand square to the transom. Preview on it in the studio and send it with your quote.

Boat name questions

Acrylic or vinyl — which should I choose?

Acrylic letters have real thickness and stand off the hull, giving depth and an edge. Vinyl is applied flat. Acrylic suits a main transom name you want to stand out; vinyl suits secondary or simpler lettering.

Can I add a hailing port?

Yes. Add it in the studio and it appears beneath your name in the same lettering style. We confirm its size with your proof.

What if my name is long?

The studio shows an approximate lettering width for your chosen height. If it is wide for your transom, try a smaller height or another style, and we will advise when we review your photo.
